Urban cowboy

Tonight Pete asked me what I would do if he decided to start wearing a ten-gallon hat all the time. After a long, awkward silence, I asked him if this is something he has been thinking about doing for a while. Pete said yes, that he always wanted one like Hoss Cartwright, and that they make really nice felt versions. I was speechless and just stared at him. Pete then added that he has a "lot more cowboy in him" than I realize, and with that last comment our conversation was pretty much wrapped up.

Hahaha! Being from Texas, that conversation isn't all that odd, but as you're in Ill, maybe so. I have no idea how I came across your rant, but I've enjoyed reading it! I saw (somewhere in there) that you enjoy decorating. My blog is all about decor for small spaces and making the most of it. I'd love you to drop by and leave a thought or an idea of something you've done to economize space, or whatever. Just say hi if nothing else. And I hope your other half is hatless for your sake. I'm a Texan and pretty proud of it, but I'm NOT a hat person!

Hi Leslie,

How cool! I have my first official reader, lol! Thanks for stopping by to read my rants. I actually have another blog called reverie, where I write about all the pretty, nice, fun, happy things in life. I created The Bitchy Deli so I could have a forum to let off steam (and I have LOTS of it!) and not pollute the happy atmosphere at my other blog. But it's fun blogging about the weird stuff that happens in life, isn't it?

And speaking of weird, yes, my fiance Pete is definitely quirky. I think he was joking because he was watching a Toby Keith bio at that moment, but Pete's been known to say odd things before. He always keeps me laughing.

I'm glad you stumbled upon my rant and enjoy reading it. I've never been to Texas but it's one of the states I have on my list to visit someday. I checked out your blog and I love it! Very, very well done. Yes, I LOVE decorating, I wish I could do my house now, but we're working on it and it's a huge mess. Anyhow, it's nice to find people with the same passions I have!

I'm stopping by ApartMental again (good name, by the way!) and will drop a note or two. Feel free to do the same at my other blog, http://reverieblog.blogspot.com.

Have a good night (morning)!

~Chris :)
